I have not been on Gather much this week. Our life has turned a bit topsy turvy. Got a phone call Monday evening..Hubby drove 2 hours to collect Daughter & 3 Grandkids and whatever they could fit into 2 vehicles. They are now living with us. We are not surprised, we saw it coming, just had to wait for HER to realize it. But we had been keeping close tabs on things.

Just a hectic week with Thanksgiving thrown in there too. Kids are sleeping wherever they can find a spot right now, got to figure out what to do different there.

Daughter (Amanda) spent a couple of days making phone calls for the school shift, her lawyer, our local dept of human services etc.  Monday more things can happen. Right now, just one day at a time.

Everything will be fine, we are here to help her, she needs to focus on her college courses and perhaps a part time job to help out a bit around here. And there are 3 adults to manage 3 kids, I think we can do it!

It is a bit complicated, but the guy she was living with for the last 1 1/2 years is actually her ex husband..he is gonna love paying child support again! He talked her into trying it again, see if they could make their relationship work..apparently not.

Deep breath..here we go! Got to focus on the Grandkids and making a good Christmas for them right now. That is Grandma's job.

We just got home from my husband's uncle's funeral.  The service was very nice he fought in World War II so he was a veteran and they gave him the full milatary treatment which is very nice.  He was a very nice man.  I didn't know him really, really well because when ever my husband's expanded family got together all the men would go in one room and all the women in another room to chat.  So I know the woman from my husband's extended family more than I know the men.  That excludes my sister in laws and my brother in laws whome I know very well. 

But I do know my husband's aunt really well and my heart was breaking for her, they have been married over 50 years, I believe it has been 54 years but I am not really sure they had a party a few years back for their 50th though.  Which was right around the time he found out he was sick. 

So after cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and spending last night at the wake and all day with the funeral, at the cemetary, and at a luncheon I am happy to be home.  Unfortunately that illness that was starting to effect me yesterday is beginning to hit me full force now.  It looks like my body let me get through the day but now it is going to let me have it. 

Take time to tell someone you love them tonight.

As most of you know, my youngest son had to have surgery on Tuesday.  Well it all went good.  It was a lot bigger than what we thought.  He had a cyst on his shoulder blade that was connected to a blood vessel.  When they cut him open then they found the cyst to be about the size of 2 marbles. (I said about a quarter and a half).  They have sent it to the pathology lab and we go back Tuesday for the results.  He now has 6 stitches on his shoulder blade.  Oh and BTW, he did a lot better than mom.  Once I saw how big it was and that they had to stitch all 3 layers of skin then it made me sick.  I was fine up until that point but knowing he had 3 layers of stiches that just got to me.  He thought it was funny though so I guess that took his mind off what they were doing.
