I understand that you have put it to where people will now make about 3 points to 5 an hour if they are lucky. One of you said it would get better once you cleared out the inactive accounts! Do you have any idea how stupid that is?!? First off, no one who is inactive is claiming anything! You should not punish the active members this way! Why not give us the crap points we were getting before and get rid of all those inactive accounts at the same time!?! This excuse is unexcused! Shame on you greedy people. Especially when a post was written that said you guys had a great year!! I guess it was not good enough! =(

Wow. What a day. I work as a product demonstrator on weekends. Sometimes I'm handing out food samples and sometimes I'm just promoting a product. Today I was to promote Whiskas cat food and had coupons to hand out.  So, I walk into the pet food aisle and see a man with Whiskas cat food in his cart. So, our conversation goes something like this:

Me:  Sir, I have a coupon for you for the Whiskas

Him: Why are you bugging me. I'm so sick of employees disturbing me while I'm shopping.

Me (with a completely stunned look on my face):  I was simply offering to help save you some money. I'm very sorry to have disturbed you.

Him: Well you should be. You should be fired for bothering customers while they are shopping.

Me (very calmly): And there's no need for you to be rude

Him: What is your name? (he looks at my name tag). Renita. Ok. I'm calling corporate on you. You're nothing but a parasite.

Whooooooaaaa!  I just turned around and walked off before I said something I'd regret later.  I have replayed this conversation in my head about 100 times trying to figure out what happened!

Another man who overheard the entire exchange came over to me later and said he couldn't believe what he had heard from this man and wanted to remind me that he wasn't worth getting upset over and said the man was deranged.  Even though I knew I hadn't done anything wrong, it was nice that this man came over to reinforce that!

I was telling the store manager about it later and before I even told half of the story the manager says "Oh, the guy in the pet aisle?"  I asked if he overheard the conversation and he said no but this guy was obnoxious every single Sunday when he came in. So, at least his bad reputation was already known!  Little did the deranged man know that the store doesn't have the power to fire me since I don't work for the store, but for the product sampling company instead.

In all my 25+ years of working in customer service fields, managing retail stores, customer service phone lines, etc, I have NEVER dealt with someone like that!

The good news is that I did not act on my initial reaction and was quickly led to pray for the man instead. I'd hate to lead such a miserable life that I'd have to take it out on anyone and everyone around me.
